Deaf
Although Ángela has a strong support network of Deaf friends, the impending arrival brings up underlying concerns she faces with the hearing world (including Héctor and her family). Through the clever use of sound and silence, the film immerses the audience in Ángela's experience. Unable to know whether their child will be hearing or Deaf until after birth, the film is a beautiful and nuanced depiction of the couple’s journey through pregnancy and childbirth.
