Grow Your Own (PG)

Director Richard Laxton. Writer: Frank Cottrell Boyce. Comedy

Grow Your Own is a gentle sweet-smelling comedy that is blessed with plenty of British charm. Set in the North of England, a bunch of grumpy old men spend their days nurturing their beloved allotments, while passing comment on their neighbours' vegetables. They're less than happy when a family of asylum seekers move in on their precious patch.

Starring Benedict Wong, Eddie Marsan, Philip Jackson, Omid Djalili, Diveen Henry

Flicks Advisor (comments from our film promoters)

A pleasant film well acted though rather predictable.

Good matinee choice especially on a cold damp January afternoon. Low audience number was expected but good to reach older residents who don't enjoy coming out on dark evenings.
