Untouchable (15)

Directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano. French Biography/Comedy/Drama

(Also known as The Intouchables) The second most successful film of all time at France’s box office, Untouchable charts an unlikely friendship between wealthy, middle-aged tetraplegic Philippe and poverty-stricken Driss, that starts when Driss is hired as Philippe’s live-in carer. Expanding each other’s horizons, they show each other that there are different ways to live. It’s a heartening sign that this moving film has done so well in France, where the divide between rich and ghettoised poor in the banlieu is often pronounced.

Starring François Cluzet, Omar Sy and Anne Le Ny

Flicks Advisor (comments from our film promoters)

A wonderful film for even a non-French-speaking audience, but it was particularly well received by members of Newtown Twinning Association (twinned with Les Herbiers, France).

A film with a really good story to it. Enjoyed by all who came.

A great film enjoyed by our audience. Definitely one to place on your Flicks wish list.
