The Eagle Huntress (U)

Director Otto Bell. Documentary/Adventure/Family, in Kazakh with English sub-titles

This spellbinding documentary follows Aisholpan, a 13-year-old nomadic Mongolian girl who is fighting to become the first female eagle hunter in twelve generations of her Kazakh family. Through breathtaking aerial cinematography and intimate verite footage, the film captures her personal journey while also addressing universal themes like female empowerment, the natural world, coming of age and the onset of modernity.

Starring Aisholpan Nurgaiv, Daisy Ridley

Flick Advisor (comments from our film promoters)

A wonderful film with stunning photography. The heroine was a very appealing child with a sweet face - and she was the actual girl who trained the eagle. A lovely story.

Great response to this. Heartwarming, charming, enjoyed the relationship between father and daughter and what fantastic scenery!

Superb film, fabulous photography, thoroughly enjoyed by Flicks audience.
